John Huston stars as an intergalactic warrior who joins a cosmic Christ figure in battle against a demonic 8-year-old girl, and her pet hawk, while the fate of the universe hangs in the balance. Multi-dimensional warfare, pre-adolescent profanity and brutal avian attacks combine to transport the viewer to a state unlike anything they've experienced... somewhere between Hell and the darkest reaches of outer space.

Plot Synopsis:
-------------------
Wealthy Atlanta basketball team owner Raymond Armstead (Lance Henrikson) is dating divorcče Barbara Collins (Joanne Nail) and seemingly in love with her, but he is really on assignment for a mysterious syndicate of rich men trying to gain power through the evil manipulation of a genetic alien force that is carried in Barbara's womb. Both Raymond and the smart-mouthed and uncannily talented pre-teen daughter of Collins, Katie (Paige Conner), want marriage and a new baby to be born, with this baby carrying forth the power that Katie is starting to show. An older man appears from another world (John Houston) and intervenes as the force of good that this power potentially has, trying to stop Katie from using her powers for evil and to take her back to a place where the goodness of children can thrive.
According to the interview with Paige Conner on the Code Red DVD, Shelley Winters smacked Conner for real several times while both rehearsing and filming a key confrontation scene with her.
------------------------
Paige Conner had trouble saying harsh profanity to Glenn Ford in her big confrontation scene with him.
------------------------
Sam Peckinpah had trouble remembering his lines. Because of Peckinpah's difficulty with his dialogue, the fact that his character was the ex-husband of Barbara Collins was never clearly established in the movie. Moreover, Peckinpah's voice was dubbed by another actor.
------------------------
Paige Conner wore a bald cap for her scene in the greenhouse. All the other kids in the greenhouse scenes had their heads shaved.
------------------------
Sam Peckinpah only worked one day on this film.
------------------------
The bedroom scene between Barbara and Raymond was totally improvised.
------------------------
According to Lance Henriksen, the cast agreed to do the movie to get a free trip to Italy. Henriksen dislikes the movie, calling it "a real turkey."
------------------------
After the police officer is attacked by the bird and rolls his car down the bank, we see that the car is clearly about to come to rest upright. But subsequently we see the car upside down as it catches fire.
------------------------
During the ice skating spinning sequence, Katie clearly let's go of the boy in the darker blue shirt twice (or the same footage is used twice). The aerial shot shows her letting go of the boy, and then a quick wide shot of them spinning together still holding onto each other, then the aerial shot again shows her letting go of the boy.
------------------------
When Barbara is being pulled along the ground a wheel and part of a small skateboard is visible underneath her.
------------------------
The basketball game at the beginning of the film is meant to take place in Atlanta, Georgia. However, the stadium has numerous Canadian flags hanging high on the walls.
------------------------
Although Mrs Collins is paralyzed from the waist down, she is able to drive a car as if she was not disabled at all.
