From David: I did some investigating of the various miniature 3d model creating sites. I decided to make an account at one called eldritch-foundry.com because they were the only one I found that let you pay a monthly fee and download as many as you wanted rather than $5 or so each. I created and subscribed for the next month (for now) - it was only $15 with the idea that we could share the use. I've only done this on my computer, but it should work on a phone too, I'm guessing, but for the instructions below, they're based on a computer view of the site, not a phone. To create a character figure (and note: YOU CAN MAKE AND SAVE AS MANY AS YOU WANT) 1. Go to: https://creator.eldritch-foundry.com/ 2. When you go to the site, choose to Create Your Character (Yellow button, top website). This will take a moment while it loads and you should find yourself in teh mini creator section. 3. In the top right, now, there should be 3 icons. A little torso/head design, a shopping cart, and the settings (3 lines). Select the little person icon (the first one). Select this icon, And you should see an area to log in to the site. Use: login:guyanonymous@shaw.ca password: DNDNewbs2024 I'm not sure what it'll say if multiple logins happen at the same time, but my attempts to test didn't have a problem, and I doubt its super likely. 4. Now you're ready to create. 5. At the top middle of the page, Enter your Character name. If you can, use the following format: YourName-CharacterName For example: David-Whisper might be mine. 6. The left side of the screen has the sections you can modify and adjust setup. You can use Quickstart and get a starting mini for you to work off, or just select body and start there. You should then see another collumn of buttons open up besdie the collumn on the left. Select Ancestry and on the far right, a collumn of options should appear allowing you to choose the Species of your character as well as gender (only two options though). When you select an option, it should change the 3d model you see of your figure in the middle of the screen. When it first opens, you'll see both male and female figures for each species. At the top you'll also see a Male and a Female button. If you choose one, it filters your choices below to match. This applies to many of the choices through creation. 7. Proceed through each of the options in order (or not if you're wild and crazy). Different selections will provide other menus as needed until you like what you've got. 8. Now its time to save your character. Check that the name is entered at the top center of the screen. Then click the save icon to the right of it. By going to the settings menu (top rightmost icon on the page, consisting of 3 horizontal lines) You should see a Saved Characters (3) option (the number is just how many characters have been saved so far). Going there will let you choose and reopen your character in the future. 9. Now to create the 3d file. At the bottom center of the whole page, you probably noticed "High Detail Resin $25.00" and "Add to Cart" icons. Click the arrow beside the $25 and choose Digital Download STL $0. 10. Add it to the cart. 11. Your cart should then open on the right - hopefully all at $0. If it doesn't, just click the Shopping cart icon in the top right. 12. Click on "Checkout" at the bottom of your cart (which is on the right of the page). 13. You should have been taken to a "Payment" screen and should see a "Generate Design(s)" button to click on the bottom left. Click it. That's it. I'll get a notification email that a character is being created and another email when it's ready for download. 14. Dave's job: collect them all and when I have enough to do a print run or we're all done, I'll print them out. 15. I have paints etc if any of you want to have a paint afternoon/eve, or, of course when they're ready you can take them home to paint there. The cost of printing a mini is minimal for me, as they're small and don't use a lot of resin. I'm happy to print a bunch for you all - I'll contribute a litre of resin toward it. If it becomes an issue, I'll let you know. A 1L bottle of resin costs around $20-30, and would cover 30-50 figures depending on size of figure (making one with a mount, for example uses a lot more resin/figure). I hope this makes sense and can work for y'all. Feel free to add me on facebook (David Robert account) if we're not already connected there, and let me know of any questions or confusions about it all. And I'll create a group chat for us as well. Have a great day! David p.s., if you want to investigate other options to do this, here are other popular sites with similar creation apps (you'll want to download the 3d model, usually an STL file, an send it to me): https://www.heroforge.com/ https://titancraft.com/ https://desktophero3d.com/ https://anvl.co/features And you can find a lot of free mini figures on: https://www.thingiverse.com/ https://cults3d.com/en (a mix of some free and a lot of $ models)
